Dandelion

Planting

Time to plant. Yes, finally! My Mom has been helping me with the garden and she is very good at what she does. I am so grateful for her help during my time of surgery and recovery. This photo was taken with my Panasonic FZ30 with a Olympus Tcon-17 telephoto lens. When you attach that lens to the 12x zoom camera you get over 700mm of zoom power. Here this is at full zoom and shows how well Image Stabilization works on the Panasonic. :)

Nikon 55-200mm VR Lens

Well, lest my blog die I better get a post up today. :) I have been working on decisions for my basic lens setup with my Nikon D70. I have a kit lens but wanted the newer Vibration Reduction lens. One I purchased came yesterday and so I got in a few practice shots. It is a Nikon 55-200mm VR lens and overall I am pleased with the quality considering the economic price. I’ll just post one for now. This is only cropped and no other editing. It is at the highest end of the zoom range, hand held. I love the bokeh (background blur).

We have many of these delicate little violets in our lawn and you never tire of them. I did a bit of post-processing on this one for fun. Taken with my Panasonic FZ30.

Update: I didn’t realize how messy the background looked when I worked on this. I will clean it up another time. ;)

I love studying clouds and as images I like to focus on an aspect and abstract from it a pleasant composition. :)
